BECOMING AN INDEPENDENT HARDWARE DESIGN OFFICE

WiRan Poland is a Research and Development as a Service provider (R&DaaS). We are serving European and American clients. We are a hardware design office and we have a proven track-record of RF technology solutions, telemetry expertise and EMC testing.  WiRan’s design solutions can be found in various industries: space, military, railway, industrial, and IoTOur company name WiRan is short for “Wireless Range Systems”.  From its very beginning, WiRan can be classified as a Knowledge-Intensive Business Service (KIBS). 2002 – 2004

The history of WiRan Poland (Wireless Range Systems Poland) begins in 2002, the year in which Microwaves Solution Sp z o.o. is founded in Poland. 2002-2004 We closely cooperate with the American company MicroLab FXR as far as design and prototyping of diplexers, triplexers and microwave dividers is concerned.

2004 – 2006

Expanding collaboration outside of Poland. We cooperate with companies from Germany (i.e Spinner GmbH) in the field of tuning and testing high power TV filters;  from Sweden (Avitec AB / now part of Cobham Wireless) in the field of tuning, testing and repair of repeaters as well as production of directional couplers and microwave dividers.  We continue our cooperation with MicroLab in the US market and start collaborating with another American partner: Microwaves R&D. We provide diplexer design services and manufacturing of diplexers as well as directional couplers.

2004 – 2006
2005 – 2010

2005: We change our company name to Pro Microwave Sp. z o.o. and Spinner GmbH becomes our majority shareholder. 

2006: Another company name change, to Spinner Polska Sp. z o.o.. We are now the design office for Bavarian company Spinner GmbH.

2006-2010: Our team successfully completes a dozen or so design projects, which add to the product portfolio of Spinner GmbH in Germany.

2010 – 2011

2010: Mid-year we became an independent entity with Polish capital only, called WiRan Sp. z o.o. 

2011 – we become an importer of microwave components from the USA and Asia. We continue to render our RF design services for European clients.

2010 – 2011
2013 – 2015

2013: We are moving our lab and office space to  a new location, within Tricity: Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia (PPNT Gdynia)

2013: We evolve and now operate our own Test Laboratory for microwave components and dedicated systems

2014 – 2015: We perform the first reconfiguration services for Europen key accounts like  T-Mobile, Orange, and Nokia operator laboratories

2015 – 2016

2015-2019: WiRan is growing both in terms of projects, assets and headcount

2015: Successfully  delivering our first projects to clients in the military and railway market

2016: First space project for ESA (European Space Agency). Partnership agreement with Element Metech: WiRan Poland becomes a representative for the Polish market of Element Metech. Element Metech is a market leader in testing, control and certification of measuring devices. 

2015 – 2016
2017 – 2019

2017: WiRan starts operating ELAB at PPNT in Gdynia, Poland. WiRan evolves into the IoT space. We start working on products from the IoT market and start prototyping our own IoT product line, branded as SEZO. We start our second project for  ESA (European Space Agency)

2018: Our team successfully completes a project within Deutsche Telekom’s tech incubator hubraum”.

2019 We successfully complete the second project for ESA and start working on our third ESA/ESTEC project.

2019 – today

2019: We launch the first products from our own IoT product line (SEZO), positioned in the market place as telemetry equipment.

2020 – WiRan works hard and enthusiastically, as we are launching a three-year project which will result in the low orbit launch of four  WiRan radio system components.

What makes WiRan Poland so special? Let’s start with the basics – Lab infrastructure. WiRan operates its own test laboratories with sophisticated test equipment, including a Faraday cage and a climatic chamber

In terms of EMC testing and HW development, WiRan Poland has got you fully covered as well. From testing devices (vector network analyzer, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters & picoamperometers, function generators, rework systems for QFP and BGA components, portable passive Intermodulation) to first-class Hardware Design software. This enables us to spur your R&D project from idea validation up to the first working proptype. In our modern, in-house laboratory we offer EMC measurements in line with European standards which ensure and optimize the quality of your products.

First-class measurement equipment and laboratory space is kept here on-premise, at WiRan. Today’s increasing fast-paced market place and decreasing product life cycles, makes  TTM (Time to Market) an increasingly important KPI to measure. Why is Time to Market so important? The decline of the traditional product life cycle – across many industries – means that replacing a service or product line every two or so years is almost the norm now.

When it comes to Electronics Development, the knowledge of embedded systems, circuit design and device prototyping goes hand in hand. WiRan Poland has been an expert in Radio-frequency design for nearly 20 years now. We design and produce electronic devices that produce or utilize signals within the radio band, since 2002. For more details please review our company history LINK. WiRan is a comprehensive provider of solutions related to Radio Frequency technology with clients from industries like railway, military, IoT (LoRa, LoRaWan, NB-IoT and LTE-M) as well as space (i.e. European Space Agency). 

Even though analog circuit design is no longer of major importance in the development of electronic devices, the knowledge thereof (analogous systems) is still beneficial in when it comes to prototyping electronic devices. WiRan Poland offers signal conditioning, galvanic isolation, analogous isolation (for both high and low frequency signals as well as low-noise DC/DC converters and amplifiers). WiRan is an official representative office of Exova in Poland. WiRan also offers training in Poland for PIM (Passive Intermodulation) as well as Wave propagation trainings for UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) pilots.
